Within the Proxis Développement group, the fragrance division is built on two complementary entities with an exceptional heritage:
La diversification maîtrisée des activités
L’intégration progressive de la chaîne de valeur pour des ingrédients robustes et innovants
L'internationalisation progressive.

Together, they cover the entire olfactory value chain: from the molecule to the finished fragrance, from natural raw materials to synthetic specialities, and from the creative brief to large-scale industrialisation.
Sozio’s creative centres (Paris, Grasse, New York, Istanbul, Dubai, Mumbai, Jakarta, Guangzhou, the UK…) showcase the expertise and versatility of its perfumers, who combine artistic flair, the ability to listen and innovate every day so as to meet the specific needs of each market.
This rare organisational structure for a company of this size ensures both a deep understanding of local cultures and reliable industrial execution on a global scale.
Sozio covers all market segments with consistently high standards:
Fine fragrance and niche perfumery
cosmetics and skincare
home fragrances
hygiene and detergents
technical and industrial fragrances
This diversity of applications is a source of resilience, whilst maintaining regulatory compliance and industrial reliability for every client project.
Natural ingredients, transparency, responsible sourcing: Sozio has formalised its environmental and social commitments within a structured CSR approach.

Founded in 1926 by Hubert Fraysse, Synarome quickly gained a global reputation for its iconic specialities, exceptional molecules and natural extracts. Having joined the Proxis group in 2021 via Sozio, it now forms the division dedicated to fragrance ingredients; a true return to its roots for Sozio, whose history began precisely with raw materials from Grasse.
From its industrial site in Chartres, Synarome creates and manufactures over 200 products and specialities for the global fine fragrance industry, including iconic specialities such as Ambrarome and Animalis.
Synthetic molecules — A range of fragrant molecules derived from organic chemistry, developed and produced in-house to enrich perfumers’ palettes.
Natural ingredients — Extracts, essential oils and absolutes sourced from direct and traceable supply chains, from local producers straight to the laboratory, with no intermediaries.
Iconic specialities — A heritage of iconic formulas and ingredients, perpetuated and enriched generation after generation.
La diversification maîtrisée des activités
L’intégration progressive de la chaîne de valeur pour des ingrédients robustes et innovants
L'internationalisation progressive.
The integration of Synarome into the Sozio division creates an unprecedented synergy: the creative strength and international presence of a fragrance house is combined with the century-old expertise of a manufacturer of specialised ingredients.
Sozio’s perfumers thus benefit from privileged access to exclusive ingredients, whilst Synarome draws on the group’s global network to develop its markets.
"
Synarome celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026. Leading a century-old company is an honour that brings with it a major responsibility: to uphold a rare technical heritage whilst accelerating our strategic commitments. Our priorities for this new century: to develop molecular alternatives and strengthen our responsible supply chains, to continue investing in our R&D and production facilities in Chartres, and to put our science at the service of perfumers and fragrance firms to shape the olfactory signatures of tomorrow.
